Attendance
Attendance is very important to us at Hannah More because we know that children who come to school every day do better in their learning. Our attendance target as a whole school is 95%.
We record every child's attendance and monitor this carefully. Children who attend school every day for a whole term are rewarded for their 100% attendance, and this is celebrated.
If a child's attendance is only 90%, this means they are missing ½ a day of learning every week – this is the same as 4 whole weeks of lessons missed in a school year!
We ask parents to support us by ensuring children attend school regularly. Medical appointments should be made outside of school time whenever possible. Holidays should not be taken in term time. If you do need to request time away from school for exceptional reasons, please ask the office to make an appointment to see Mr Hawkins or Mrs Barbour. Please beware that due to government legislation we cannot authorise any holiday during term time.
For more information on attendance you can read our policy here.
