What was London like in 1666? To find out more, Year 2 have been using sources and their history skills to compare the past and the present.
On Thursday 8th September Year 2 began their Topic with a visit from the Avon and Somerset Fire Service.

EC class took a train journey to Bath to learn about the Great Western Railway! We wanted to find out what impact the railway had for people in Bristol in the past. We were excited to see Bristol Temple Meads train station and imagine what it would have looked like when it was first built. When we returned to school, we wrote diary entries, using our imaginations to write about taking a train journey in the past.
Year 2 Homework Challenge: To build a bridge using junk modelling material.
26 May 2016 Written by Sarah FoleyThe children were asked to design and create a bridge just like Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Have a look at some of the fantastic bridges that were handed in on Monday. Mr Webster was so impressed he handed out special prizes for the best designs!
We enjoyed climbing on board the Open Top Bus. The trip was linked to our topic, where we have been learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We enjoyed looking around the City. Can you spot anything the great engineer created?
Captain Barnacle came to visit Key Stage One!
EC class asked lots of questions and learned a lot about pirates. We learned about pirate clothes, weapons and about the history of Bristol. We enjoyed looking at the interesting things he brought to show us. This will really help us with our Lteracy writing which is all about pirates!
We enjoyed making lego models. We made the models move by giving them key instructions.
