Year 6, Week 3 Follow-Up

10 June 2020

We're nearly half way through the final term already! Here's the follow-up work from Week 3.

  • Children in Group A should do this work on Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th
  • Children in Group B should do this work on Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th.

  • At the bottom of the page is work to do if you haven't come to school since we re-opened.

In our two maths lessons earlier this week, we first learned about the different parts of a circle and found the radius and diameter of circles. Then, we used this knowledge to help us read and interpret pie charts. Your home learning this week will enable you to practise and consolidate these skills.

Here's the link to  the video for The Arrival Book

Day 1

Watch this video before starting the task below.

Look at this sheet and answer the comparison questions between a key picture in The Arrival and an image of Windrush passengers.

Day 2

Write a poem about family life.

Watch this poem first by Dean Atta

You could use one of these lines to get started:

Being with my family is like…

Family is…

Being without my family is like…

Day 3

Watch this video about Ali from Afghanistan.

Answer these questions about the video.

If you haven't attended school since it re-opened, here is the work you should do:
